From the time she was a child, Dolores loved to draw. Energetic and prolific, she is impassioned to paint from life. Inspiration comes from everywhere, inevitably as seen in the remarkable, countless, various subjects captured in her work.
D’Achille studied at Rutgers University and also received a Fine Arts Degree from The Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art, discovering early in her career that an artist who does not use her imagination is only a mechanic.
The current painting, the one in progress tends to be her favorite – only until the next beginning which is fresh and exciting. An idea, a line, stroke by stroke, never breaking away from tradition, a painting appears.
Dolores has exhibited extensively throughout the metro area in solo and group shows and a recipient of numerous awards. The Gold Medal of Honor from the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Open Exhibit at the National Art Club, New York City and many Best in Shows, including The Trenton City Museum, Ellarslie, The American Artist Professional League New Jersey Chapter Open Exhibition and several AAPL John Grabach Best Oil Awards and many other awards.
With a unique atmospheric quality, hers alone, soft combinations of colors and loose brushwork, D’Achille manages to capture a moment in time stirring the emotions of the viewer.
